Tanner Jacobson
Head Football Coach
Tanner Jacobson is the head football coach at Tyler Junior College (TJC) in Tyler, Texas. He was appointed to this role in April 2022, marking his first head coaching position. Prior to joining TJC, Jacobson served as an assistant coach at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, where he contributed to the team's appearance in the NJCAA National Championship game and the national semifinals during the 2021 season. His coaching responsibilities included working with defensive backs and serving as the Special Teams Coordinator. Jacobson's coaching career began at Brigham Young University (BYU), where he was a defensive graduate assistant for two seasons. His playing career included stints at Texas Tech University and BYU, where he played as a safety and was recognized for his versatility and intelligence on the field. In recognition of his leadership potential, Jacobson was named to the 2023 American Football Coaches Association 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute. At TJC, he is committed to mentoring student-athletes and fostering their development both on and off the field
